Giant Factory Off-Road
Giant has a long history of supporting the world’s top off-road racers, dating back to 1995. The lineage of Giant-sponsored mountain bike athletes stretches from legendary names like John Tomac and Rune Hoydahl to the 2011 Downhill World Champion Danny Hart.
Hart returns to the team this year after an injury-shortened 2012 campaign. The 21-year-old leads a strong trio of World Cup downhillers including South African veteran Andrew Neethling and newcomer Marcelo Gutierrez Villegas, a young Colombian who finished top-10 at the 2012 DH World Championships.
This year's Factory Off-Road Team is putting a heavy emphasis on the enduro racing scene. Making the jump from the Rabobank-Giant XC squad is American Adam Craig, an experienced enduro racer with several U.S. Super D titles to his name. Joining Craig is fellow Super D national champion Kelli Emmett, along with Carl Decker, the 3-time Downieville All-Mountain Worlds winner. Also focusing on enduro racing this year is Austrailan Josh Carlson, who scored several big wins in North American enduro racing in 2012.
From World Cup downhill to enduro and XC, this team was built to cover the entire spectrum of off-road competition.
